During lockdown, Sonam watched Mahabharat with her daughters. The opening song had a line that stuck.
"Yug yug ki kahani" - stories through the ages.
Her older daughter kept humming it. And Sonam kept thinking.
Where were the Indian books that felt like magic? Not textbooks. Not lessons disguised as fun. Just beautiful, honest stories that made kids proud of where they came from.
She looked everywhere. Nothing fit. So she made them herself.
YUG started as one mother's search for the right stories. It became a mission to give every Indian child books that feel like home. Books that celebrate our festivals, honor our heroes, and capture the incredible diversity of this land we love.
We're not trying to teach kids what India was. We're showing them what India is. Warm. Layered. Endlessly fascinating. And completely theirs.
